Federal judge finds cruise line not responsible in overservice of alcohol lawsuit

Table of Contents

Our trial lawyers are two for two this year in successfully defending cruise lines from passenger overboard cases involving allegations of excessive alcohol service. A Miami federal judge entered a defense judgment for a cruise line in a lawsuit alleging a passenger fell overboard after being given too much alcohol. The attorneys at Mase Mebane & Briggs, P.A. proved that the passenger’s friends on the cruise did not believe she was overly intoxicated or in any danger at the end of the night. The federal judge found that the cruise line was not on notice of the potential for the passenger to go overboard as a result of her drinking.
