Curtis J. Mase is the founder and Managing Shareholder of Mase Seitz Briggs.  A native of Miami, Curtis began his career with a well-respected Miami Plaintiff’s personal injury firm. His love of the water led him to an interest in maritime law, and he began representing the world’s largest cruise lines, while continuing to represent individuals injured by the negligent and unscrupulous acts of others. Today he handles all types of personal injury cases, whether they occur on land or water, including maritime premises liability, negligent security, liquor liability, and sexual assaults. Curtis is a Board-Certified Civil Trial Lawyer with four decades of trial experience in state and federal court. He has successfully tried hundreds of jury trials to verdict. In addition to an active trial practice, Curtis has argued numerous appeals in both state and federal court, including the Florida Supreme Court, and has arbitrated cases in the US, Europe and the Philippines. He has written and lectured on numerous subjects, including trial practice and procedure, evidence, personal injury and maritime law.

Curtis is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbel and has been recognized in US News & World Report’s “Best Lawyers in America” and “Lawyer of the Year,” Florida Super Lawyers, South Florida Legal Guide Top Lawyers, Florida Legal Elite, and Legal Leaders Top Rated Lawyers. He is a member of Million Dollar Advocates Forum and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum.

Curtis enjoys spending time on the water in South Florida, and the beautiful waters in Biscayne Bay and the Bahamas.  He has three children and one grandchild.  He enjoys the outdoor lifestyle that South Florida allows year round and takes every opportunity he can to get outdoors.  Curtis and his wife, Monica, who is also a lawyer at the firm, are both avid supporters of youth sports. The firm has sponsored his daughter’s softball teams and their sons’ baseball teams, and Curtis has coached in the Howard Palmetto baseball and softball leagues.
