The Southwest Florida Area Local-American Post Workers’ Union in Fort Meyers, Florida was not given work they were promised and was owed back-pay. The United States Postal Service refused to pay and we brought a suit on behalf of the union. An arbitrator awarded $5.2M, at the time the largest arbitration amount for a local Postal Workers’ Union against the Postal Service. The award was enforced in Federal Court when the United States Postal Service refused to pay. After grievance proceedings, arbitration and a lawsuit, a settlement was ultimately reached in which the Postal Service paid the $5.2 million award.
