$433,000 in U/M Benefits Obtained in Low Speed/Impact Auto Accident

Curtis Mase and co-counsel Alex Hunt of Goldman Daszkal obtained an excellent result for their client, Dawn Grace Jones in her suit against Allstate Indemnity Company for injuries sustained as a result of an auto accident. Allstate denied uninsured motorist benefits following a low speed/impact auto accident under a $60,000 policy. Allstate claimed that the injuries sustained were not related to the accident, therefore no benefits were owed. After a three day trial, on January 12, 2017, a Broward County Circuit Court Jury returned a verdict in favor of Ms. Jones, and found that Ms. Jones’ injuries were related to the accident, and awarded Ms. Jones $430,496.11 in damages. Allstate now faces the prospect of defending itself for its bad faith conduct in its handling of the claim, and refusal to settle when they could have and should have, but chose to not.
